What Is Travelodge’s Hiring Process?

Search the Travelodge website to see if there are any open positions that interest you. If you find a job title that suits your qualifications, you can submit your application online with your CV. You are able to apply for more than one position at a time, so be sure your CV matches the minimum qualifications for each position you apply for.

If you seem like a suitable candidate, you will be contacted by a member of the human resources team. During this call, you will discuss your experience. This is a good time to ask any questions you may have about the job.

If the phone interview goes well, you will be invited for a face-to-face interview. This interview will consist of behavioural and technical questions. Be ready to discuss your past experience, and be prepared for open-ended questions that require examples.

Some positions will have you perform skills tests during the interview. These can vary from in-tray exercises or role-play to case studies and presentations. You will be kept informed of what you are expected to do as you move along in the hiring process.

Some positions will require psychometric testing. These tests are online and may be given before you are asked to interview, or as a part of the interview stage.

Travelodge’s Aptitude & Personality Tests

Online assessments and psychometric tests are used as screening tools. They help identify which job-seekers have the best skills to learn a new role quickly and perform well. If you are required to take any assessments it may be any combination of these commonly used tests:

  • Verbal Reasoning Exam Communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal directions are important in hospitality. The verbal reasoning test measures this ability. The test is made up of short passages, followed by multiple-choice or true or false questions. You will have a time limit in which to complete this test.
  • Logical Reasoning Exam Logical reasoning tests help evaluate problem-solving skills. Each test question is made up of matrices of changing shapes. You will need to determine what the sequences are to determine the missing pieces of the patterns. This test is multiple-choice and you will have a time limit.
  • Situational Judgment Test (SJT) This test gives an idea of how you will perform day-to-day actions. You will be given different workplace challenges that are relevant to the job you want. You will be given different solutions to these challenges. You will be asked to either rank the solutions from best to worst or decide which one you think would be the correct action to take.
  • Personality Survey You may be given a personality test to see how well your personality suits the job you want. This may involve selecting words you would use to describe yourself, or ranking different descriptors.

How to Prepare for Travelodge’s Assessments?

Put yourself ahead of the competition by prepping for the psychometric assessments. You can practice the logical reasoning test by using apps designed to boost memory and cognitive function. Improve your reading comprehension and vocabulary by using word puzzles and crosswords. Make sure you practice working with a  time constraint. This will help you prepare for the pressure of taking timed tests. Make learning about Travelodge, and the role you want with it a priority. Learning the culture and expectations will help you if you are torn between answers on the SJT, and guide you on the personality test.
