What Is TUI Airways?
TUI is the British offshoot of the 5 airlines owned by TUI Group. In the past, all 5 TUI airlines were run as separate businesses. TUI Group has recently begun to stake steps to combine all its airlines into one integrated entity. It offers scheduled and charter flights. It ranks number 10 in size in the world for commercial airlines but is number one for charter flights. TUI Airways has a fleet of 64, when all 5 groups are integrated, the fleet will increase to a total of 150 aircraft. TUI Airways travels to 96 destinations in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Africa, Asia.
TUI helps over 13 million passengers a year reach their holiday destinations. They can’t do this without the help of their dedicated aviation staff which is made up of cabin crew, pilots, maintenance, ground support, and engineers. TUI employees are eligible for benefits that include:

What Is TUI Airways’ Hiring Process?
For jobs with any of the TUI airlines, head over to the careers page to check for openings. Be sure to thoroughly read the job description so you know for certain that you meet at least the minimum qualifications. You also want to be certain you are not applying on a stale listing and that the deadline has passed.
If your application seems intriguing, you may be contacted for a telephone screening. You will be sent an email with the details so you will know what to expect. During the phone, screening don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have about working at TUI. The more you know, the better off you will be as you continue in the hiring process.
Cabin Crew Candidates will be asked to take a video interview/SJT. You will be sent prerecorded questions that you will have a time limit to answer. You may only be allowed one take per question. The invitation email will include all the details you will need to complete the interview.

TUI Airways’ Online Assessments
TUI uses SHL assessment tests to help speed up and smooth the hiring process. These tests will determine which candidates have what it takes to represent TUI. You will be tested on areas that are an important part of learning how to perform a job and performing it successfully. SHL tests are multiple-choice, and the sections measuring cognitive function are timed.
- Verbal Reasoning Test – This portion of the exam will show how well you are able to think critically and make accurate conclusions based on written information. You will need to read short passages, and then answer the proceeding questions as true, false, or not enough information to decide. This helps show if you are able to understand and follow written directions.
- Numerical Reasoning Test – You will be given numerical information in tables and graphs, followed by word problems. You will need to determine which math function you need to use to solve the problem, and accurately solve it.
- Abstract Reasoning Test – This test measures your fluid thinking abilities. Instead of using words or numbers, you will be given series of shapes, that change slightly, you will need to find the pattern, and determine which piece of the pattern is missing.
- Situational Judgment Test – To see if you respond in a reasonable way to common on-the-job scenarios, you will be presented with different situations you may find yourself in. You will need to decide from the list of choices, what the most reasonable action would be.
Some candidates are being required to passthe Matrigma test.
How to Prepare for TUI Airways’ Tests?
The assessment tests are crucial to making it all the way through the hiring process. Invest some time in preparing yourself, and you will improve your chances for a positive outcome. Work on practice problems, and practice reading graphs to get in the right mindset for the numerical reasoning test. There are apps that can help you practice, or if you prefer you can use problems from your old textbooks. The best way to work on your verbal reasoning is through reading. Read short stories and find quizzes online designed for students. This will help you work on your focus when reading so you are really absorbing the information. Quiz yourself while using a timer so you can get used to working with a time crunch. These tests are timed to see how well you can complete a task while under pressure.
Take your time on the SJT. Although you are supposed to use your first instinct to answer, approach it from a professional point of view.
